In 2017, the gallery Venus Over Manhattan focused attention on John Dogg, a fictional persona and pseudonym initially used in the late 1980s by artist Richard Prince alongside gallerist Colin de Land. This project highlighted industrial car parts and American car culture vernacular as fine art.
