Published by the Galerie de France on the occasion of the exhibition of Pierre Soulages' paintings from 17 May to 18 June 1960, this brochure bears the number 0392.
Beautiful photographs taken by Izis show the painter at work in his studio. These black-and-white images accompany twelve reproductions of his paintings, which are of remarkable quality. The full-page images effectively convey the breadth of his brushstrokes, whose depth is heightened by black and blue washes.
