bruit presents a work that appears silent. As a methodical archiving of the colour wheel in oil pastels, each page resonates within us creating sensations linked to colour. Page after page, a rectangle of a single colour challenges our perception before an underlying colour sows doubt and blurs our certainty. This sensation can be likened to ‘the stranger in the house’, to the Freudian uncanny.
